This role will be to work on a diverse range of projects – Care Homes, Housing and Education schemes and require working on detailed design and delivery, including all aspects of client, consultant and contractor liaison, providing full technical design including drawings and specification.

Experience of managing the delivery of production information packages
Excellent skills in the latest version of Autodesk Revit & AutoCAD
Good problem solving capabilities
Good interpersonal skills
Good attention to detail


Contract administration experience
CIAT membership

Staff Vacancy – Practice Manager

BBA Architects are looking for a Practice Manager to join our office in Bath

This role is key to the business and facilitating the smooth running of the practice. Responsible to the three Directors but also there to support all the staff in the office and contribute to the friendly welcoming atmosphere that BBA prides itself on.

The role involves being responsible for (not limited to):

  • Implementing and maintaining the office procedures/administrative systems and personnel records
  • Ensuring compliance and managing certifications and registrations of the business
  • Producing and maintaining all fee applications and invoicing for the Practice
  • Preparing letters, reports, tenders
  • Working alongside an external Health and Safety organisation to ensure policies are up to date and the office is compliant
  • Organising staff recruitment
  • Liaising with staff, contractors and clients
  • Supervising and monitoring the work of administrative staffEssential skills required:
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills demonstrating the ability to relate well to clients, contractors and staff
  • Able to act with confidentiality, tact and discretion
  • Show initiative and be self-motivating
  • Ability to manage a variety of competing priorities and meet deadlines
  • Work as part of a team
  • Proven organisational skills with a high level of accuracy
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word and Excel and Outlook

Topping Out took place on Friday morning (January 13) at the new 210 pupil place primary school, the first new build school in Bath for many years, adjacent to the former MOD Ensleigh site.

Director Announcement

As of 1st November, David Hambly and Derrick Wobey have stepped down as Directors at BBA. Both David and Derrick have made considerable contributions to the advancement of the business and will continue to provide valuable input to the company through a consultancy capacity, so their wealth of experience will not be lost!

Dan Washington, who joined the company in June 2016, has stepped in as a Director to join existing Directors Matt Bollen and Sally Hewins.

BBA was established in 1992 and part of the success and longevity of the business has been our ability to evolve whilst maintaining our core principles and multi-disciplinary service. We are able to continue this through the solid foundations of the company and the strong and talented team at BBA. Whilst David and Derrick will be missed, our clients can expect the same level of service that they have always received from BBA. This change to the management structure at BBA has been planned to ensure that the business and our clients can expect a seamless transition.

A planning application has been submitted to Forest of Dean District Council for the redevelopment of the former Sonoco Factory and adjoining land.

The application is in outline and seeks approval of the principal of development and the detailed approval of the access and layout of the development.

The development proposed is for 12,000 ft of B1 commercial starter units and 65 homes and flats.

26 of the homes and flats will be affordable units.

Firepool Complete!

Following 15 months on site, Water’s Edge, Firepool has now reached completion.

BBA have been working in conjunction with Bray & Slaughter and Acorn Bristol (part of the Acorn Developments Group) to construct this new residential development which comprises 45 apartments and 4 townhouses.

Final handover to the Client is expected within the next week, with the first residents expected to move in before the end of September.

Work has finally started at Lovedon Fields, Kingsworthy!

BBA have been working as delivery Architects for HAB Housing, to make John Pardy Architects’ imaginative designs a reality on this prestigous site in Hampshire.

The scheme comprises of 50 units, with bespoke options available. Further updates will follow in due course throughout the construction process.
