Regeneration of this unique and prominent building to create a luxury mixed use development.

“A fine example of Office of Works revivalist design, using the popular Neo-Georgian idiom to great effect in this prominent city centre location.” English Heritage

With this at the forefront of our minds, BBA created an informed and considered design for this unique Grade II listed Neo-Georgian building. The redevelopment provided seven retail units on the ground floor, the Bath Postal Museum within the lower ground floor and ten residential apartments on the upper floors.

Internal and external alterations were proposed, which finely balanced limiting harm to the existing listed fabric, whilst providing viable development. The opportunity ultimately provided improved and increased retail and residential spaces. Contemporary design features included a peardrop shaped glazed roof lantern, which provided natural light to lower floors. These contemporary interventions brought a luxurious style to the development, but were located within a rooftop courtyard and thus did not distract from the listed external features.
