A 170 dwelling extension to an historic market town.

Outline planning permission was achieved by overcoming significant development constraints, most notably the site’s location outside of Corsham’s settlement boundary and its proximity to a Special Area of Conservation. We demonstrated that the Council could not prove a five-year housing land supply and ecological evidence was provided to show no significant effect on the nearby SAC.

The masterplan and sketch street scenes submitted as part of the outline application demonstrated how the number of dwellings could be accommodated on site, whilst respecting the historic character of Corsham and providing the ecological mitigation required.

The project team included Redcliffe Homes and Environmental Gain.
